Research Centre for Women's and Infants' Health (Mount Sinai Hospital). The overall objective of the Centre is to minimize the fetal and neonatal death and disability. The experimental approach is to focus on defining critical developmental processes during pregnancy. This approach recognizes the contribution of early development on later fetal growth and function, as well as the need for delivery to take place at a time appropriate for neonatal survival. The research will consider both normal and pathologic development of these embryo-placental and maternal systems during pregnancy.
