Facilities

An introductory short list of our members’ facilities, centers and programs associated with specific research areas is given below. Please see Members section for complete listings

Robotics and Analytical

Department of Chemistry NMR Facility (University of Toronto).  The Facility offers services to both University and outside users. Most of the NMR equipment is operated hands-on by trained graduate and undergraduate students. Staff are on hand to advise and train students, to run more complicated experiments and to run outside requests.

Thermofluids Research Laboratory (Ryerson University).  The Thermofluids Research Laboratory undertakes both basic and applied research on a variety of problems involving heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid flow. The laboratory supports the research of several graduate students on an ongoing basis and is involved in collaborative projects with other universities. The lab also offers assistance to industry with heat transfer related problems.

The Prosser Laboratory (University of Toronto, Mississauga Campus). The laboratory focuses on Biomolecular NMR, specifically interactions between proteins and other biomolecules (membranes, drugs, other proteins). We combine novel and standard techniques to analyze model biological systems.

Robotics & Manufacturing Automation Lab (Ryerson University).  An interdisciplinary laboratory for advancing robotics and manufacturing automation brings together Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Biomedical, Electrical-Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, MEMS, and Computer Science. The Ryerson University Analytical Centre - is a state-of-the-art suite of scientific instruments offering a wide range of capabilities for (bio)chemical analyses. These include HPLC, GC, GC/MS, GC/Headspace, FTIR, UV-VIS, Luminescence Spectroscopy, and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, powder x-ray diffraction and Clean Room (analytical trace element) Facilities.

Sinai-McLaughlin Assay and Technologies (Mount Sinai Hospital). This state of the art Robotics Facility has chemical libraries and an integrated screening platform for running fully automated assays. Our scientists are leaders in the development of high throughput projects and genome-wide assays.
