Drug Discovery
McLaughlin Centre for Molecular Medicine (Sinai-McLaughlin Assay & Robotics Technologies (S.M.A.R.T.). The S.M.A.R.T. laboratory has been created to provide excellence and innovation in biological screening. The configuration of the lab’s two integrated robotic platforms has been recently redesigned to maximize potential, flexibility and capacity for the implementation of the largest array of assay types. Researchers from the academic and the biotech community may also have access to well-diversified collections of compounds for screening, including a Maybridge drug-like chemical library made of 50K samples.
NMR Services (University of Toronto). Located at the heart of downtown University of Toronto campus the NMR services provide both academic and non-academic services. The centre has 500 MHz, 400 MHz, 300 MHz and 200 MHz equipment for performing high resolution liquid NMR. The facility is also equipped with the latest DSX 400 and DSX 200 equipment for performing solid state NMR. Most of our equipment is operated hands-on by trained graduate and undergraduate students. Staff are on hand to advise and train students, to run more complicated experiments and to run outside requests.
Shanghai-Toronto Institute for Health Research (University Health Network). The Institute was created by the University Health Network (UHN), Canada's largest research hospital (Ontario Cancer Institute/Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto General Research Institute, Toronto Western Research Institute) UHN China, the Shanghai Institute for Health Sciences and the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (both members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences). The purpose of the STI is to promote the development of collaborative programs in drug development and biomarker discovery.
