Clinical Trials
The Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (University Health Network). The goal of this centre is to help develop, disseminate, and evaluate resources that can be used to practise and teach EBM for undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education for health care professionals from a variety of clinical disciplines.
The Clinical Research Centre (Hospital for Sick Children). The Centre facilitates the conduction of physiological types of patient-based research. CRC is comprised of four units: an exercise laboratory, bioengineering, a metabolic research kitchen and the Clinical investigation unit.
Clinical Research Support Services (St Michael's Hospital). There are currently over 250 active clinical trials at St. Michael's Hospital. St Michael's is a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Toronto. Its researchers hold faculty appointments with a wide variety of university departments. Based out of the Office of Research Administration, staff work closely with clinical researchers assisting them to strive for excellence in all aspects of clinical research.
Clinical Research Support Unit (Hospital for Sick Children). The Clinical Research Support Unit (CRSU) is a consultation service operated by the Population Health Sciences Research Program. The mandate of the CRSU is to improve the quality of clinical research at SickKids by providing consultation in the areas of study design and methodology, statistical analysis and data management.
Clinical Studies Resource Centres (University Health Network). Expertise in cancer (Princess Margaret Hospital), cardiovascular disease science and transplantation (Toronto General Hospital) and neural and sensory sciences, musculoskeletal health and arthritis, and community and population health (Toronto Western Hospital).
Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (Mount Sinai Hospital). Contract and clinical research facilities and services are provided through MSH's operating GLP certified laboratories fully accredited in Canada and the US. PLM provides a wide spectrum of services for basic, translational, and clinical research to meet the needs of the biomedical industry including consultation on project feasibility assessment, research project development and management, project co-ordination with external academia and industry, and data interpretation services including biostatistics and bioinformatics.
